IPMLEMENTING DISSASTER PROTECTION:
-when u reinstall a 2000 server u Must restore
first because the SID is different!
when loosing admin password boot from ntfs for dos:
change logon.scr to logon.screen~ , also boot from erd
-before playing with the server u better backup system state
-in case of mirror brake make a diskate with:
ntldr,ntdetect.com,boot.ini,
put also the folowing:if u have bootsect.dos on your
system partition & ntbootdd.sys=for scsi driver
(while booting push F6-in case of bios disabled).
boot partition=c:\winnt, system partition=active.
multy(0) disk(0) rdisk(0) partition(1)
multy --> rdisk(0) partition(1) --> partition
is a software
scsi --> disk (bios enabled)
F8 --> last known good configuration is good before log on, if
u log on the data is writen 2 the control panel and the
registry, in this case make reset before loggin in.
SAFE MODE --> and safe mode with command prompt --> no AD
look at the event log , try to reciver
SAFE MODE COMMAND PROMPT --> from recovery console u can type ? for unix
commands:
format,fixboot, fixmbr,,logon,mapchkdsk,chdir.
ERD --> :run:\ntbackup,emergency repair disk, make a diskette.than
boot from instalation cd, R ,ERD --> take u back 2 the last
state with old passwords
make a batch file: net stop/start "certificate services"
RCOVERY CONSOLE--> \winnt\repair /regback --> registry backup
cdrom_name:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons --> for a setup of
console recovery.
SYSTEM STATE --> delate boot.ini and restore it:
dobble click on c:\backup1.bkf, reboot with direc restore
mode(F8) log on as administrator, start restoring
backup.bat at read only, ntbackup backup d:\,e:\,f:SFC --> sfc /scannow
CONTROL PANEL --> services ,schedual , automatic
c:\ at 23:00 every: su,m,t,w,th,sa
c:\backup.bat
