WEBMAIL:
at rh9 select to install from cd(tmpwatch.rpm,
squirrelmail-1.2.7-1.noarch.rpm)
put /var/www/webmail at /home/mosh/ros/web so u
can access via: ros.co.il/web
at /etc/xinetd.d/imap change from disable=yes to
disable=no
restart xinetd
open tcp ports 143+113
Configuration:
at dir /home/.../squirrelmail/config do ./conf.pl :
-organization preferences: 1,2,4, make default language:
he_IL for heb support
-server settings: domain:domain_name,
imap server: localhost
Visualization:
-at motd (number 7)put a message like: "Life is
like a box of chocolate.."
-at /src/login.php change "Squirrelmail" to: ros
(2 times)
and a row below: "By ronen shemesh".
-at functions/display_messages.php change all
Squirrelmail
-at /images put sm_logo.png
-at /functions/page_header.php change all
SqiurrelMail & "http"
-also at config/config.php
Info:
- squirrelmail mail is stored at /home/username/mail
- if u want to delete trash u can delete file
Trash and create it again with
the permition and ownership of the same user.
-preferences and addressbook for every user is
at /var/lib/squirrelmail/prefs
- delete .htaccess from the mail directory
(to make webmail accessible
also after making some directories on the web secure)
errors:
-if u cannt login:check that u changed
imap to on
-from the explorer u cannt login- check
that u enbled coockies
-if the webmail cant send mail check at
php.ini: file_iploads = On than
restart apache.
-if u login in hebrew- u get bad request
-a white page-nothing 2 do
- if you cannot login check that
"/" dir is not full!, if at the maillog u
seem to login and out and get at the xinetd
restart: "pmap_set failed" at
messages: reinstall squirrelmail.
-if u add a user, and the user logs in from
the web with a white paper
sayes that there is no default something or
some words writen, reinstall
squirrelmail!
-if the server name is different than the domain
name: edit the conf.pl
