upgrading from nt4 to 2k3

* create a trust
* install admt (AD migration tool)
at user manager for domains|policies| trust relationship|
add trusted domain| name| close trust relationship window|
close user manager.
-at 2k3: start AD domains and trusts|right click upgrade
properties| click trusts tab| new trust | at the name click
NTDOM next| at the direction trust window select two-way
next| select domain wide authentication next.
verify that it is completed successfully|next |yes to confirm
outgoing trust|add admin| finish.
-at nt4| user manager for domains| group windows| double click
administrators |add | in the list name domain check box - select
upgrade| in the name select administrator |add ok| ok.
-at w2k3 open AD| right click upgrade.co.il select raise domain
functional level
-install ADMT: at Sources\w2k3\i386\admt\admigration.msi |finish
at the pdc| create ou migrated objects| on administrative
tools menu click AD migration tool| click user account
migration wizard | migrate now| select NTDOM | on the target
domain select UPGRADE |next.
on user selection | add | advanced | find now| select all
user accounts than ok.
browse to migrated objects ok.| verify that eneble target
acounts is selected| select the migrate user sid| when
promped eneble auditing on the source & target domain -yes|
promped create local group -yes| reboot -yes| than choose
the NTDOM ! | watch the migration progress- verify that
no errors were encountered
-use ADSL to verify that the new AD accounts contain windows
nt server4 sids:
run|mmc|add/remove snapin add adsi edit |connect | expand
all | in the object properties dialog box doble click
sIDHistory |close.
