setup ipxutil,ncpfs*.rpm
(gives u slist command),mars-nwe*
mkdir /var/SYS -->a path for the SYS
directory(as at 1), chmod 777 /var/SYS
at /etc/nwserv.conf do:
1 SYS /public/SYS kiO 711 600
--> this line must b the first!
"r" makes the dir read only!
"k" stops saving files at 8.3
letters dos format!
"i" ignores case and allow
more than 8 letters filename
without the O cannot
c more than 8 charecters
it will make 3 directories at SYS which u can make
soft link between the publ ic to the smb /public
--> ln -s /public(real) /public/SYS/public
1 HOME ~ k -1 (to have a home dir)
2 SERVER_NAME

13 GUEST nobody - 0*1 --> "-" sais u no need
password or use any password!
13 RONEN nobody passwd 0*1 --> "passwd" is the
password for user RONEN on
mars and user nobody on the unix system!
(solves the owner permitions problem)
15 99 --> if "top-secret" is there it is the
password for all
17 0x1 --> to get the directory login on SYS only
(as a login script)without
SYS on the server.
0x0 (default)--> gives u 3 mappings of SYS-if
there is no other login script
21 leave only the line with: LP - lpr -
(for starting the server should b added to rc.local:

start service:nwserv , service mars-nwe start,
stop service : nwserv -k
at ntsysv --> add mars-nwe

--> the server is up!

from station u can ipx_ping -r 1

at linux side u can run tcpdump 2

at station:
setup client of novell for bindery
(3x)disable the run scripts option at the client,
or use the ms client for novell.
the 7.3 (9 supports) server doesnt support
long file names so: backup the registry
at 9x,

add a new DWord: "SupportLFN" , hexadecimal :02
at c:\system.ini add:

at xp with no sp at all(no need for sp1): regedit:

-for changes to take effect u need to log off than log on

than the nwserv will work
good. when the rh7.3 will not connect to another novell
it will get network of
000000 which wont work! --> at this time the client
will c the server but wont
b able to locate the server and login
-when coppying files to a shared folder the prompt u

-u can browse the net ass an empty dirs: check files

otherwize u will c an error saying :an unexpected

-from win98 u cannot copy a heb file with [ in it!
